Howdy,
I've witnessed and been part of the growth and evolution of the Bike Kitchen as a patron, volunteer and mechanic for over 4 years. I'm now excited to continue this growth by presenting myself as a nominee for BK Board Member.
Having been President of my College's Student Association - and having 5 years experience as a sales rep for Yahoo! gives me the leadership experience, organizational know-how and relationship building/management to be a great asset to the board. I have experience with landlord/tenant relations and property management - and would be excited to build, foster and grow the relationships with our landlord, various vendors, and our community partners.
My vision for the BK includes sustainable and manageable growth, to help improve patron/user/staff satisfaction, and doing a kick ass job while having fun. I hope to get lots out of being on board. I would be excited to further develop by connections within an organization, grow my leadership skills and deepen my involvement with non-profits.
I'm stoked to be part of this great team in any capacity. I'm invested in this community, I love San Francisco and want to see more bikers doing what they love to do. I hate paying for things that I can do myself - which is why I'm always excited to empower a patron to fix their bike rather than pay a mechanic to fix it (sorry bike shops - I still love you... mostly for your surly attitude and last minute parts).
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
